Oprah Winfrey, 45, has some decorating to do. The queen of media has closed a $50 million deal for a 42-acre estate in California's Montecito, reports the Los Angeles Times. The property, which Oprah reportedly first spotted when she was at a nearby photo shoot for her O magazine, has both mountain and ocean views. The former owner was Southern California industrialist Robert Veloz and his wife, Marlene, who have been living in the property's 2,000-sq.-ft. stone gatehouse since the structure was built a year ago. (They plan to vacate by July, says the Times.) The Velozes had bought the property for $14 million in 1998, shortly after the death of previous owner Eloise Bacon, who died at the age of 100. She and her husband, John Bacon (a scion of the Libby-Owens Ford glass company fortune, who died in 1964), have owned the land since 1934. A new 23,000-sq.-ft. Georgian-style house on the property is still six months away from completion.

Funnyman Eddie Murphy won't be joking over this.

Nearly five years after his posh seven-bedroom Englewood, N.J., mansion went on the market for $30 million, the actor has slashed $15 million off the asking price.

And still no buyers.

The lavish gated estate, known as Bubble Hill, comes complete with a bowling alley, theater and recording studio.

It also has a full-size racquetball court, indoor pool, elevator and a carriage house with gym.

Annual taxes alone are $197,723.

"It's a beautiful house and 10 minutes from Manhattan," said real estate broker Dennis McCormack, of Prominent Properties Sotheby's International.

I just saw this on a Celebrity news show on tv and wow oh wow! What an amazing backyard! The pool itself is said to hold more than half a million gallons of water and nearly the size of two 50 Meter Olympics Swimming Pools. There are bridges, several pools, cabanas, lazy rivers – it’s just incredible! The water park is built on her 5.7 Acre property on the very exclusive Jupiter Island. It’s a shame I couldn’t find any other high resolution photos of the completed project!

Orlando Bloom's home burgled in Los Angeles

British actor Orlando Bloom was said to be devastated after discovering that thieves had made-off with part of his prized collection of vintage wristwatches from his Los Angeles homeLord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean star Bloom, 32, is believed to own more than 40 valuable watches, but the stolen pieces are known to have been among his favourites and could have a combined value of more than £200,000.

Although some of the eight watches are more than 40 years old, they were all described as being in "superb" condition.

Six were rare Rolex models and included a special antimagnetic version called a Milgauss that was one of the first 80 of its type produced in the 1950s.

Vintage watch experts say it could be worth more than £120,000, while other stolen pieces include a £20,000 Rolex Submariner of the type worn by Sean Connery in the James Bond movie Goldfinger and a 1970s Explorer model known as a "Steve McQueen" because it was of a type favoured by the Great Escaspe actor.

Kent-born Bloom, who was in New York at the time of the raid on his LA home, recently sold several watches from his collection to raise funds for the U.N. children's charity Unicef of which he is an ambassador.

Tom Cruise Buys $35 Million Beverly Hills Mansion

Facebook Tweet In a move that further dispels rumors of marital strife, Tom Cruise has plunked down $35 million for a Beverly Hills home for himself, Katie Holmes and baby Suri, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The star, 44, had been renting a home in Beverly Hills for the past several years (he and Holmes, 28, married last November), but that lease runs out next year, according to the paper.

The new address, which reportedly was not even on the market when Cruise made his offer, is described as a " traditional-style residence."

Originally built as a 10,000-sq.-ft. structure in 1937, the house was expanded four years ago and currently contains seven bedroom and nine bathrooms, say those familiar with the property.

The Cruises will have their privacy: the house sits on 1.3 acres behind gates and a lengthy driveway, and sports a tennis court and a pool.

As for the Cruises' current residence, according to this week's issue of PEOPLE, the compound also serves as a gathering place for Cruise's children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman: Isabella, 14, and Connor, 12. (Suri is 1.) The actor's mother, Mary, 70, also lives there.

"Tom and Katie will get in the kitchen and make this amazing popcorn with chocolate," says a pal, Internet mogul Sky Dayton. "Suri is there playing. Kate feeds her a bottle and then Tom feeds her."

In addition, Cruise and Holmes's pals, Victoria and David Beckham, have bought a multi-million-dollar house only two minutes away. They plan to move in July.
